Our heart is to give back not only to our local community but to the nations. Twenty percent of Aggieland Urgent Care’s proceeds are given back into the community through the free medical care of the Somebody Cares Clinic and Internationally through Medical Missions International, Inc.
Meet the Owners
Dr. Stuart Quartemont and his wife Velvet, married in November of 1987, during the final year of his Family Medicine residency. They have 4 boys, two precious daughter-in-laws, and 2 adorable grandbabies. After Dr. Quartemont completed his residency, he and Velvet moved to Nigeria, W. Africa where they served as medical missionaries for 2.5 years on a volunteer deferment. During Dr. Quartemont’s medical school training, he served on 3 medical mission trips to W Africa. Knowing the extent of medical needs and the poor quality of health care in Nigeria, he knew he wanted to go back longer term and offer his services to those with such desperate needs. So, he sought out a broad spectrum Family Medicine Residency, where he did extra training in general surgery and obstetrics. Those skills proved invaluable both on the mission field and locally. During the Quartemont’s residence in Nigeria, they opened their first mission hospital. Even though the Quartemont’s moved back to the US in 1991, they have continued to serve in Nigeria by taking surgical teams to Nigeria up to 3 times per year for over 30 years. They typically do 100’s of surgical cases on each trip. They not only assist medically but also in ministry. They have given hope and quality of life to thousands through their ministry of selfless service to the people of Nigeria.
Dr. Quartemont has served many years in private practice in the US as a broad spectrum Family Physician, doing family medicine, surgery, and obstetrics. He continues to be on staff with the Texas A&M Family Medicine Residency program, where he takes Residents on surgical rotations to Nigeria. He has also served as an ER doctor for almost 20 years. You can be confident that Dr. Quartemont and his staff are qualified to handle most any urgent medical cases that may arise on the steps of Aggieland Urgent Care. We hope you don’t have any medical needs, but if or when you do, we look forward to serving you.
